The processing of a service:
  • The rule of thumb:

The starting point is an assessment of your needs, followed by a provisional quotation. Once this has been signed (good for agreement), we can get started.

  • In details:

1. You contact me, explain your needs and send me a sample of the text to be translated.

2. I assess the degree of technicality, anticipate potential problems and work with you to define the framework and objectives of the project.

If you're a company, I also need to know your style guide or specific terminology. I also need a contact person who can answer any questions I may have throughout the project.

I refine the provisional estimate. 🔎

3. You receive this quotation within 48 h with a commercial proposal. I enclose my GTC. The quote is valid for one month.

4. You give me a positive reply by return of correspondence (written or electronic) within one month. 🤝

5. Your service begins.

6. I carry out proofreading and quality control. I respect delivery deadlines.

7. I will deliver the translation by the agreed deadline, together with the invoice.

8. Payment is due within 30 days of the invoice date.

9. You evaluate the service.⭐⭐⭐
The cost question:

My pricing basis varies according to the type of project. Pricing can be per source word, per target word, per page or per hour.

I will always advise you on the best price for your needs.

For per-word rates (between €0.10 and €0.15), additional parameters complete the pricing basis to be able to establish your quote. The latter depends on :

  • The number of words
  • The technical nature of the text
  • The components of the source medium
  • The source file format
  • The deadline
  • The possible need for localization
  • The potential need for transcreation

The number of words is counted by MS Word or CAT software such as SDL Trados.

For per-page rates (between €15 and €50), the difference is based on the complexity or technicality required.

The hourly rate depends on the type of assignment. For example, it's advantageous for proofreading or post-editing.

Urgent jobs that involve activity outside my usual hours or days are charged 25% more.

I accept payments by bank transfer or CB.

Please note that charges may apply if payment is made in a currency other than the euro.

The question of delivery time:

Please note that charges may apply if payment is made in a currency other than the euro.

  • The number of words
  • The language level
  • The field of specialization
  • The file format
  • Management, verification and exchange time

Urgent project? Special project?

Contact me, we'll talk about it to find the solution that suits you best.

The easiest way is to consult directories, freelance platforms or social networks such as LinkedIn or Facebook.

A French professional translator is commonly found in:

  • The Apec registry (Association pour l'Emploi des Cadres)
  • The directories of the translators' unions of which he or she is a member (in France, this is the SFT).
